“Do Not Be Deceived, The Enemy Is Cunning”

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Cunning is defined as devious; slick; scheming; crafty; deceitful; sly.

God is sovereign over Satan. The devil does not have a free hand in this world. He is on a leash, so that he can do no more than God permits. In effect, he must get permission, as in the case of Simon Peter, where Jesus discloses, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has asked to have you, that he might sift you like wheat.” And the case of Job: “The Lord said to Satan, “Behold, Job is in your hand; only spare his life.” The word says in 1 Peter 5:8-9, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings." The enemy’s schemes are ruthless and cunning. The bible reminds us that the devil main aim is to steal, kill, and destroy. If we’re children of the living King, don’t ever believe for a second that the enemy hasn’t planned our demise. He will do everything he can to bring every believer down. That’s his goal, and he will stop at nothing to accomplish it.

I come by this evening to let you know the devil is not to be trusted or believed ever. God’s given us everything we need to resist and defeat the enemy’s plots and schemes. The bible never instructs us to fight the devil in our own strength, or to be afraid of him and his attacks. But it does tell us how to live strong and alert, knowing that God is the One who holds us secure. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
