“We Are Empowered”

2 Corinthians 12:9

Empowered is defined as to give power or authority to; enable; authorize; permit; entrust; allow.

Our identity comes from our relationship with God. This is important because who we think we are determines how we live our life. We need to know that we were made in God’s image, in we have been made children of God through Christ, and we have been empowered by the Holy Spirit. God is a giving God. Because of that, He pulls from the unsearchable, limitless resources of His glory to give us strength or power in our inner being through the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot even come close to living the life that God has called us to. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, there is less of us, our wants, our desires, our sins, and our influences. We can live victoriously in this life by God’s grace, but it only comes through tapping into God’s limitless resources, being empowered through the Holy Spirit and living in the fullness of God. The powerful presence of God in our lives is not a one-time thing, it is eternal. We are empowered to be great in Jesus Christ. Jesus gives us the greatest example of what empowerment looks like. In Matthew 3:13-15; “Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. But John tried to talk him out of it. ‘I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,’ he said, ‘so why are you coming to me?’But Jesus said, ‘It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.’ So John agreed to baptize him.” John the Baptist was one of Jesus’ closest friend. He was also one of the first people Jesus empowered.

I come by this blessed morning to let you know God gave us the greatest example of empowerment when He sent Jesus to Earth. God instilled Jesus with His power to not only perform miracles but to save all of creation. Because Jesus was empowered, He was able to empower those around Him in miraculous ways. We are empowered. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
