“The Secret Of Contentment”
Philippians 4:11-13
Contentment is defined as satisfaction; ease of mind; serenity; pleasure; comfort; happiness.
The only place that we can really find true fulfillment and contentment is in Christ. True contentment isn’t something that we find in things, people or circumstances, it can only be discovered in our convictions. We must learn to give thanks in all things. Paul had learned to give thanks in every circumstance and he exhorted all believers to do the same. The secret to contentment in every circumstance of life is thankfulness first of all a matter of obedience. Rest in God's providence. If we truly know God, we know that He is unfolding His agenda and purpose in our lives. He has sovereignly determined each part of His plan for us so that we'll be benefited and He'll be glorified. We should not be surprised or ungrateful when we experience trials because we know that God sees perfectly the end result. Learn to be satisfied with little. Live above life's circumstances. Paul didn't take pleasure in the pain itself, but in the power of Christ manifested through him in times of infirmity, reproach, persecution, and distress. We also should learn to take pleasure in the power of Christ in times of distress. Rely on God's power and provision. Become preoccupied with the well-being of others. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
I come by this morning to let you know a person who lives for the interests and benefit of others, will find blessing upon blessing in their life. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
