Jeremiah 29:11-14
Best is defined as of the highest quality, excellence, or standing; finest; perfect; honorably.
The main reason we aren’t receiving God’s best is because we are willing to settle for less. Very few are committed to God’s best. We have been influenced more by the world than by God’s word. We have to get sick and tired of being sick and tired before we will aggressively pursue God’s best. We have to have a holy dissatisfaction with mediocrity before we can experience all that God has for us. It doesn’t happen accidentally or automatically. If we don’t pursue it, we won’t get it. Things don’t get better without effort. We have to seek to find, knock to get the door opened, and ask before we receive. Our God is a good, kind, and loving God. In Psalms 34:8 it says; "O taste and see that the Lord is good.” God is more anxious to bestow His blessings on us than we are to receive them. We’re not talking about getting materially rich, being free of all illness, or achieving some measure of greatness. What we’re talking about is receiving everything that God wants to give us, accomplish in us, and do through us, realizing that He wants more for us than we ask or think. In order for God to give us His best, we must be in a position where He can bestow His blessings on us. God cannot bless us unless He has us. When we try to keep within us an area that is our own, we try to keep an area of death. Therefore, in love, He claims all. There’s no bargaining with Him.
I come by this afternoon to let you know God wants to give us His best, but do we have it? Are we in a position where God can bless us? Yes, I have and I am in position where God can bless me. The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. He provided a way for man to establish the right relationship with Him through the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ. God made Him to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ and be able to receive the best God has for us. Come to Christ today. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
