“Unwilling Heart”

2 Peter 3:8-10

Unwilling is defined as not willing; reluctant; loath; averse; opposed; offering resistance; stubborn; afraid; resistant.

People makes excuses to not surrender or repent towards God. We must realize we’re nothing without God. He is the reason we all exist. God’s unmerited grace is nothing we earned but freely given to us by Him daily. In Phillipians 2:13 it says; “For it is God who works in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure." Willingness comes first before action/ability. People who are unwilling to repent of their sins will go to eternal damnation. God is giving Moses a second chance. God is demonstrating His power in a burning bush. Moses has just yielded, “Here am I,” and he is on his face. Like a first grader, Moses thinks he knows it all. Because of Moses unwilling heart he made excuses of why he couldn’t do what God asked him to do. His first excuse was, Unfit, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?” Moses wasn’t afraid of Pharaoh because a price was on his head and he wasn’t truly humble. His excuses were probably motivated by unbelief.  His second excuse was untaught. Moses asked God, “When I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘the God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘what is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” God answered, “Tell them who I am. “Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I am has sent me to you.”

I come by this morning to let you know we all need a heart that is willing to trust God. Our lives are sometimes made up of unpleasant things, but necessary responsibilities. God wants your heart, not your service, and not your resources. He does not need those things, but He accepts them as the fruit of a willing heart. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
