1 Peter 5:6-11
Vex is defined to irritate; annoy; provoke; bother; offend; upset; disturb.
We must understand how important it is to be able to recognize your enemy. Many of us do not take the enemy seriously because we don’t know enough about him to take him seriously. Satan’s cleverest strategy is to make us believe that he does not exist or that he’s not a real threat. Trust me when I say the devil is real and walk among this earth daily trying to deceive us every chance he gets. The devil is deceiving, murdering, tempting, destroying, lying, accusing, and controlling. God asked Satan from where he had come. The devil answered, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Here are a few people of the bible who spirit we’re vexed by the devil. One is Samson, who was vexed by his lover, Delilah. Delilah was treacherous and allied with Samson’s enemies, the Philistines. The Philistines knew that there was some secret source to Samson’s great strength, and they paid Delilah to find out what it was. Delilah tried several times to elicit the secret from Samson, but he was not forthcoming. Delilah did not give up but kept up the verbal barrage: “She pressed him hard with her words day after day, and urged him, until his soul was vexed to death.” Job was vexed by his well-meaning friends. The Israelites were commanded not to vex (as in harass) the foreigners who lived among them. Fathers are not to vex their children or dishearten them. And God promises to vex the ungodly who oppose the Messiah.
I come by this morning to let you know we must stand flat footed on the word of the Lord and do not allow the enemy to vex our spirit with their manipulating and controlling spirits. The Lord has given us the power to trample over the enemy in His mighty and powerful name. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
Amen! We stomp all over the enemies head! Hallelujah
