1 Peter 5:7
Anxiety is defined as distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune; worry; tension; doubt; misery.
Prayer is the key to escaping the snare of anxiety. When Jesus was teaching His disciples about fear, worry, and anxiety, He taught four key principles. These principles reveal how a wrong response to fear, worry, and anxiety can hinder our spiritual walk, and why we must take our anxiety seriously as a follower of Christ. Even though Jesus was full of compassion, His primary goal was not simply to eliminate the physical discomfort that anxiety bring into our life. He taught us that our emotions reflect what is going on in our hearts, values, and thinking. If we are going to take our faith seriously, we need to listen to the clues that anxiety brings our way. Jesus talked about anxiety often because He didn’t want us to lose sight of what was most important in life. Our anxiety reveals what we value. Jesus taught us that what we value will become what we prioritize. If we value the world’s priorities more than we value God’s priorities, we will naturally be anxious about the things of the world.
I come by this morning to let you know God calls us to overcome anxiety by keeping our focus on what will last eternally, faithfulness, trusting God with all our trails and focus on serving others. Be blessed and I love your!!! JE
