“Stop Wavering And Trust God”

James 1:6-8

Wavering is defined as to sway to and fro; uncertain; changing; unstable; to pause or hold back in uncertainty or unwillingness. 

In order to not waver, we need to know the God we trust and His trustworthy actions. Jesus said in Revelation 3:5 “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.” Another way to say it is wishy washy, one day they believe this or that and the next they believe something else as they really have no idea what they believe. Then there are many who are just afraid to commit. Rejecting the word of the Lord is corruption. If we do not accept what God has for us, we are rejecting God. He says in 1 Corinthians 12:4 “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. Without the power of the Holy Spirit we cannot defeat the prince of this world. If we want to continue and do as Jesus said we would do we must do as he said. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. We must not waver but trust in the Lord with all our heart.
