Matthew 19:26
Task is defined as duty; work; responsibility; project; assignment; charge; calling.
We don’t live in a world where some people work and some people don’t, it might seem that way based on how our labor market plays out but in God’s economy, we work because we are created in the image of the one who created work, and even still is working. Work is one of God’s ways of showing us how much He loves us and the world he has made. He uses people to cultivate the earth that brings forth beautiful flowers and trees. He uses people to feed the hungry. This is our task, but it shows the world that He is the provider and sustainer. Trusting God is more than a feeling; it’s a choice to have faith in what He says even when our feelings or circumstances would have us believe something different. Our feelings and circumstances matter and are very much worth paying attention to. God cares about them both. But those things alone are not reliable enough to base our life on. They can change at any moment, even in an instant. God, on the other hand, does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and therefore is worthy of our trust. Trusting God is not about ignoring our feelings or reality. It is not pretending that everything is OK when it isn’t. Trusting God is living a life of belief in and obedience to God even when it’s difficult.
I come by this evening to let you know that ordinary task matters to God because ordinary people matter to God. There is no “ordinary work” that is beneath us, because in Christ every task we undertake is never in vain. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
