“There Is A Cost To Living Like The World”

Matthew 6:19-21

Cost is defined as the price paid to acquire, produce, accomplish, or maintain anything; sacrifice; worth; value.

We must have inner peace to protect us when adverse disasters come, that way is faith in Jesus Christ. It is that very faith that equips us and strengthens us for the tough times. No circumstance on earth, not one thing, can destroy us and separate us from the happiness we have in Jesus Christ. What is our happiness built upon, wealth, independence, Wall Street? Or is it built on Jesus Christ? The parable about the Rich Fool. And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The Rich Fool suffered from a disease that many of us suffer from today. He suffered from "I" trouble.

I come by this morning to let you know we must die to self and allow our life to be lead totally by Christ and not by the world. People who invest their lives in the thrills of this life and being a success of this world. It is sad but we live in a world full of these people and the church has their share of them too. 

Real riches are those laid up in Heaven by those who trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and live their lives for Him. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
