“A Double-minded Man Is Unstable In All His Ways”

Psalms 112:1-10

Double-minded is defined as wavering or undecided in mind; inconsistent; unstable; marked by hypocrisy; fake; two-faced.

Double-mindedness comes from the brainwashing and deception of Satan. He wants to distort your lenses. The bible has examples of double-minded people: Adam and Eve eating the apple; Abraham lying about Sarah being his sister and later sleeping with Hagar; David, taking Bathsheba, then killing off Uriah; Jonah traveling in the opposite direction of Nineveh; Peter denying Christ even after being warned by Christ himself. We are instructed by Paul to have the mind of Christ. Our love, affection, and devotion are to be for our Lord first and foremost. Living for Him means we are Christ-centered in our beliefs, thoughts, and actions. In James 1:14 it warns us that we are tempted when we are drawn away by our own lust. The word lust is the strongest word we have for desire. James warns that this desire blinds us, enticing us to pursue the object of our lust. Our desire is to relieve or fill an emotional, psychological, and ultimately, a spiritual need. Our minds and hearts become divided in directions other than Christ, creating a split within us. We think we are serving God, but we’re really serving ourselves. We can’t serve two masters, because we’re going either love one and hate the other. But we can’t serve both. Choose today, who will you serve? Father God I choose to serve you. 

I come by this morning to let you know the heart of a person who fears the Lord is fixed, established, sure and confident. Their heart do not reject or rebel against the things of God. They love wholeheartedly and follow Christ in all things. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
