“Walking Through The Fire”

Isaiah 43:2-7

Fire is defined as an attack; devouring; severe trial or trouble; ordeal.

None of us are exempt from tests and trials and as much as we wish there was, there is no formula to live by that would yield a perfect life untouched by pain and discomfort. God gives us something very special during these times, He gives us Himself. The Lord answered through Jeremiah 29. God’s people are in exile. They don’t know how to live in this new place. They aren’t sure how long they’re going to be there and so they are putting their lives on hold waiting to see if and when they would go back to their homeland. The prophet Jeremiah comes to them and promises that God has good plans for them. Plans to prosper them and not to harm them. Plans to give them a future and a hope. Plans to bring them back and to restore them. Jeremiah also tells them not to put their lives on hold, waiting for that day. He tells them to make the best of life where they are. God tells Jeremiah to tell the exiles,  in Jeremiah 29:5-7; “Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Seek the welfare of the city where I sent you into exile and pray to the Lord on its behalf for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

I come by this morning to let you know, making it through will not be easy but with God it is possible. I encourage each of you to allow God’s presence to give you hope no matter what you are facing today. God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ever ask or think. All we have to do is trust Him. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
