“Inspite Of Our Circumstances, God Wants Us To Stand On Our Own Two Feet, Stop Trying To Fit In”

Romans 12:1-2

Fit in is defined as to be socially compatible with other members of a group; to belong or conform; accept; tolerate; bear with; stand for; submit.

Fitting in is being ordinary. It’s being a follower. The only person we are to follow is Christ. The problem with trying to fit in is, it’s seeking joy in all the wrong places. We will never be satisfied when we do this. Find joy in Christ. Did Jesus ever fit in with the world? No, and neither will His followers. We all want to be liked, cherished, and appreciated by our peers. God could care less about these things. The purpose of the Gospel isn’t to fit in at all, but to in fact stand out. God has called us to be different. To stand against the grain. To be a city on a hilltop. And to be the change for a world that lacks hope. Not fitting in is a good thing. We weren’t made to fit in. We were made to fulfill our calling in Christ. We were made to stand out. When we’re filled more with God’s Spirit, we worry less about fitting in and more about pouring out. We seek in others what we can only find in God. In Romans 15:13 it says; “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

I come by this morning to let you know in life we’re going to have to make sacrifices for the Lord and who we hang around with is one of them. Don’t try to act like something you’re not, be yourself and continue to follow the word of God. Stop trying fit it, it’s not worth it. Be who God called you to be and stand out for His glory not man. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
