“We Must Be Prepared In Season and Out of Season“

Luke 21:36 

Prepared is defined as properly expectant, organized, or equipped; ready in body or mind; able; willing; available. 

In life, we must be ready at all times. Everybody must be ready for Jesus because He will come like a thief in the night. If everyone knew what time He was coming everybody would accept Him. Stop putting Him off. Stop procrastinating! By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail. Many of us will hear the words, “depart from me, I never knew you.” Tomorrow is not promised to no one, so get prepared today and make Jesus your Lord and Savior. Walk in His will and watch how your life change for the best. Jesus is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ever ask or think according to the power that works in us. We must also prepare ourselves for trials and the temptations from the devil because they will happen. When they do use the word of God and the power of prayer to stand firm. The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to find out if it had any fruit. When He reached it, He found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then He said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And His disciples heard Him say it.

I come by this morning to remind and encourage someone that we can’t follow God only when the timing is right for us. We also can’t rely on our own strength. When doing God’s work, we can never plan well enough or anticipate all the potential kinks; our plans will never be foolproof. We must be prepared in and out of season. Are you prepared?
