“Vulnerability”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Vulnerability is defined as openness to attack or hurt, either physically or in other ways; exposure; openness.

To live as someone else is to resist the person God created you to be. The more you keep your mask on, the more of a stranger you’ll become. If we resolve to live a life free from vulnerability, our hearts will shatter under the weight of trying to hold it all together ourselves. God designed us with emotions and feelings that aren’t meant to be suppressed but expressed to one another. If we resolve to live a life free from vulnerability, our hearts will shatter under the weight of trying to hold it all together ourselves. Jesus chose to be vulnerable, understanding that vulnerability was the pathway to finding His strength in God to live out His purpose. He would never crush a broken heart nor disregard the weak and vulnerable. He will make sure justice comes to those who are wronged. Being honest takes humility, and Jesus was the perfect example of this. Jesus humbled Himself and became vulnerable, choosing to be revealed as a man and was obedient. He was a perfect example, even in His death, a criminal’s death by crucifixion.

I come by this evening to let you know we have to choose each day to be honest with God about our sins, our emotions, our desires, and our motives. Even when it was uncomfortable, Jesus chose to be vulnerable, understanding that vulnerability was the pathway to finding his strength in God to live out His purpose. Be bless and I love you!!! JE
